At the Buscot Neonatal Unit at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, some of the smallest and most vulnerable patients fight their biggest battles. Babies born too soon or with serious health conditions rely on specialist equipment to survive those critical early days. Right now, we urgently need to raise vital funds to purchase new, state-of-the-art incubators – lifesaving equipment that provides warmth, protection, and a carefully controlled environment where these babies can grow stronger.

Thanks to advances in technology, modern incubators don’t just support survival – they improve outcomes, reduce complications, and give families precious moments of connection during an incredibly difficult time. But many of our current incubators are outdated, and without urgent investment, we risk falling behind in the care we can provide.

In the quiet hours of the night, when most mothers are holding their newborns close, one mum found herself standing beside an incubator – separated from her baby by plastic, wires, and machines.

Her son, Conor, was born at just 27 weeks.

For 92 days, Buscot Ward became their world.
